The Tarpanam

ritual during the New Moon phase each month. It is the belief that by doing the House Warming pooja before starting to live in the house, is very Auspicious and it gives all good things. Hence, the House warming pooja is being done for every new house that is built. The House warming pooja is otherwise called as Tarpanam, meaning entry to the house.

Performing either version anytime between sunrise to sunset once every day, especially on New Moon days is highly advisable. However, it is suggested to not perform tarpanam during non-daylight time. Do it as often as possible on New Moon days.
